So it is snowing right now and there is supposed to be a few inches of accumulation overnight. I don’t plan on cancelling or rescheduling the 10 am appointment unless absolutely necessary. So I plan to see everyone tomorrow, hopefully bright and early-ish.
If I have to cancel I will call/text everyone to let them know by 9 am since that is when I would be leaving my house to get there.
Ok. So I know we promised that everyone would be getting the save the dates soon, and we aim to keep that promise. Things just got a little crazy with the holidays so we are a bit behind. Stephanie and I are working as fast as we can to track down some addresses and mail these out, then I swear you will have them. If we happen to miss anyone I am sorry, it was not our intent.
On a side note everything else is right on track with the wedding so we are pretty happy about that. Once we have everything 100% set with the honeymoon we might place some of the details up here for everyone to see.
So I have made the appointment at David’s Bridal in Manchester to try on wedding gowns. It is going to be Saturday January 8th at 10am. I expect my bridesmaids to be in attendance, especially since I checked the date with them first 
I am making a game out of the dress hunt too. I asked my bridesmaids to pick the dress they think I would pick when we get there. I won’t see who picks what. Then we all get to see which dress I pick and who is the winner! There may be a prize involved I have not decided. But knowing that the dress they chose is the one I wear down the isle should be enough ;P
So we ordered some Save The Dates and they are finally in so we will be working hard very soon to get all of those out to everyone. Also to answer all your questions ahead of time we did take a cheesy photo for them and yes it is cute, and yes all the girls will oooh and aaaah over them.
We have secured our Justice of the Peace. Mayor Bob Chatfield of Prospect, CT. He was recommended to us by Mahan’s. He has been the Mayor since 1977 and is a nice guy to talk to.
My mom’s family is from Prospect and they actually know and grew up with Mayor Bob, so it is pretty cool that he was recommended.
We won’t be meeting with him until 3 weeks or so before the wedding to work out the ceremony. Planning weddings is weird because everything needs to be reserved a year in advance but most things don’t need to be done until a month before.

Next thing will be setting up a time for wedding dress hunting! Probably not for a couple months though. Right now Chuck and I are focusing on two weddings coming up that we are a part of and moving into our new house August 20th. YAY!
So this weekend Chuck and I looked at a few wedding venues. One stunk horribly, the others were ok and one really stood out. Mahan’s Lakeview Fine Catering is awesome. The guy we spoke with, Kevin, was really nice and easy to talk to. We are now waiting to get confirmation on the date we want, then I will let everyone know what day to free up on their calendar for our wedding.
Fun side note: When we got there for the appointment, totally realized I had my high school junior prom there.
