The Wedding of Chuck Lindblom and Stephanie Rosshirt

So as we cross the 1 Month 1 Week and 1 Day mark I thought I could drop in and give an update. From what Steph tells me the flowers are done, we are making our final meetings with everyone now and we look to be on track (who would have thought we could pull this off).

We spoke with the people for the reception and they allow us to bring cigars, so I will be working with my father to get some nice ones for the wedding. The only rule is they need to be smoked outside. I am not sure if I want to have them near the bar area or on a table somewhere where you can drop by and just pick one up. Ideas are welcome.

We hit a few road bumps the other day with some past issues coming back, but we managed to ignore them long enough to get what we need to do done, and the issue seems to have gone away, so always a plus in my book.

Only thing I have left to do is find some gifts for my groomsmen, need to find something they will really like.

I am excited as we get closer to the wedding and all the little things are coming together. This weekend my Maid of Honor and I put together the bridemaids’ headbands. They are super pretty. We finalized how the girls will look except for hair since trial runs aren’t until a month before the wedding.

Speaking of hair the place all the girls, the mothers and I will be getting our hair done is Salon Couture of Southington. They are very nice over there and had really good prices compaired to some of the other salons I looked at. I can’t wait to see how the hair will look.

Also the party favors came in. I think they are nice and reusible but I am not going to say what they are because it should be a surprise for all of you guests. I have also already ordered the cake topper, toasting flutes and personalized stamps for the invitations. The stamps are supposed to be coming in soon so I hope to get all the invitations out in the next couple weeks.

It is fun seeing everything come together. I can’t wait for the wedding itself!

For those interested, Chuck and I set up registries at Bed, Bath and Beyond and at Amazon.com. It was so much fun going through BB&B with a scan gun and picking everything we like. It was also a little overwhelming. I didn’t realize how many types and qualities of everyday flatware there are. I didn’t even think about all the “accessories” that come with dish sets: matching creamer, serving dishes, etc. It was a lot.

Overall it was a good experience and I can’t wait to see we get.

So Chuck and I ordered the invitations last Thursday and they should be ready in a couple of weeks. They won’t be sent out until June/July so look for them then. The style we picked I think is really elegant and fun, and they had all the matching stuff for the wedding day like table cards, name cards and programs. Because tangerine isn’t a common color, the invitations have a lot of our secondary color, red, in them. The envelopes are red because they weren’t available in an orange color. The design and writing has both colors though.

Also with the invitaions being ordered, we have picked the time for the ceremony. It will be at 3 pm on Sunday September 25th 2011. The reception is right after at the same place as the ceremony, Mahan’s Lakeview in Wolcott, CT. The reception should end around 8:30 pm. I include this information for those who are out of town but close enough that they may be considering going home after the reception ends.

I am very excited about the invitations and can’t wait for everyone to see them.

Not that it is really wedding related, but the reason we might be a little behind posting on here is because we just adopted a cute little rescue dog named Zoie. She is a handful but super nice. She is adapting really well to her new home. She is a 3 year old cocker spaniel and we love her.

So now Chuck and I are finalizing our guest list. There are more people than we realized. We unfortunately ordered the bare minimum of save the dates and already ran out.

We have two large books of styles of invitations at home now that we need to go through. Hope to pick the invites in the next 2 weeks and get them ordered. Yay!

To all who follow the blog, sorry for the delay in this post. We found the dress for the girls. It was a unanimous decision, thank goodness.

Pictured in the dress is Diane. The one she is wearing is a different color but you can see the tangerine color on the bottom right side of the picture. The rest of the girls left to right are Jackie, Eri, Lindsey and me.

The time has come to look for dresses for my bridesmaids. We are going to David’s Bridal in Manchester March 5 at 3pm.

I am very excited to see all the dresses the girls try on and to see which one they pick. I am going to let them choose which one they want to wear. I will only give an opinion if it is a toss up and they need a tie breaker. I don’t want to be the type of bride that forces her girls to wear some hideous dress because she likes it. I want them to be happy and feel pretty when they are walking down the aisle before me. It is bad enough I am making them wear tangerine

So we have booked our wedding photography and videography company. It is Fallon Photos. They were recommended to us by Mahan’s. It is a lot of money but I think we are getting a lot for it. It still weirds me out how expensive everything is. I have never spent this much money before. It is what it is I guess.

We have also scheduled our cake tasting. It is May 17th at 5 pm. It is with Elegant Cakes. They make all of the wedding cakes for Mahan’s. The cakes must be good if their next available tasting appointment isn’t until mid-May. I am excited to try different flavors and frostings since right now I have no idea what kind of cake I would want.

So Saturday went pretty well, except for a crazy, overpowering alterations woman who was trying to “help” close the sale with my perfectly nice and understanding consultant. I found the perfect dress and I bought it and a veil. My bridesmaids and mothers all think I look beautiful. My mom cried.

I can’t say much about it since Chuck can’t know, but it is a-line and has the right amount of beading, elegant without being too much. I was totally in my budget which is great. Jackie was the one who picked the winning dress.

I am very excited and can’t wait for everyone to see me in it.
